As some of you know, I've chucked my Tivo for a MythTV setup. And I, like every other geek that has installed MythTV, have been writing up an article describing my trials and tribulations with installing and using MythTV. I have dreams of finishing it of course, but I never will.
Anyway, this morning I had an inspired thought of combining the podcasting software iPodder with KnoppMyth in such a way that it would allow me to automatically download audio and video feeds and stick it into the right directories so that the files show up correctly in the MythTV interface.
I detailed my setup in this thread. As far as I know, I might be the only person using iPodder in such a way. I'm currently awaiting feedback from the knoppmyth gurus to see if I've done good or not. It wouldn't surprise me to get a response along the lines of "Dude, why did you go through all that effort? There is already software that does what you want called 'x' and it is built into the system!!" But who knows, I might have had an original thought, and that would be cool.
That was my bit of geek zen for the day.
